: Accounting Analyst Consumer Loans Job Summary The Consumer Loan Accounting Analyst is responsible for performing assigned accounting functions for the Company related to its consumer lending operational activities, which includes residential mortgage, HELOCs and other consumer loan products. The Analyst's role involves processing General Ledger (GL) and related activity, monitoring activity in certain general ledger and internal DDA accounts, and performing GL Agings and Reconciliations. This role completes month-end closing account analyses, compiles various monthly reporting for consumer activities and requires communicating effectively with internal partners on an ongoing basis. Psoition Responsibilities: Accounting for Consumer Loan Operational Activities

• Research and clearing General Ledger entries for loan origination, settlement, payoffs, and loan sales activities conducted by the Consumer Loan Center (CLC) operational teams.
• Monitoring of certain general ledger clearing and in-transit accounts; research and clearing of outstanding items; and resolve "out of balance" situations.
• Monitoring and reconciliation of certain Internal Bank Deposit Accounts account daily activity, ensuring items post and clear correctly and on a timely basis.
• Assist with processing the time sensitive cash settlement of various consumer loan activities as requested by CLC operational teams for coverage support.
• Processing all G/L Requisition Orders for CLC operational teams in an accurate and timely manner.

Perform monthly Accounting and Reporting functions

• Maintenance of trial balance of saleable and portfolio mortgage loans, including coordination with loan operations for accurate accounting of mortgage loan boardings, settlement and payoff activities on subservices/agent loan systems.
• Coordinate with the CLC operational team to ensure timely loan sales transactions with accurate gain/loss on sale recognition in the GL.
• Perform any necessary adjustments/journal entries to appropriately capture interest accruals and reversals, capitalization of deferred loan origination fees/costs and monthly amortization.
• Reconcile complex consumer loan and mortgage general ledger asset and liability accounts by comparison of general ledger balances to subledger balances; maintain clearing account aging standards for clearing/suspense accounts; and analyze, research, and resolve exceptions and issues.
• Research and report on preliminary and final interest income yield analysis.
• Prepare, analyze, and report on consumer loan account variances.
• Calculation and coordinating payment of Mortgage referral incentives.
• Complete other monthly reports/analysis as requested by management.

Position Qualifications:

• High School/GED and 5 years of relevant experience or Associate Degree in accounting or business and 2 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 2 years of experience in Accounting Operations such as Consumer Lending or General Accounting
• 2 years of Financial reporting/analysis experience
• 1 year of exposure to basic balancing/reconcilement

Comerica Bank Center (CBC) 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday This position offers a hybrid work model that includes onsite and remote days as determined by the manager.
