Position: Pipe Laborer 
Company: Woodstone Earth Construction 
Schedule: Be willing to work 40 -55 hours during the summer, Monday-Friday 
Pay Rate: $23-$38 per hour depending on experience

Position Summary: 
Pipe Laborers at Woodstone Earth Construction will assist in a variety of pipe installation for commercial sitework projects. This role involves laying pipes of various materials, sizes and configurations, ensuring that they are properly positioned and connected in underground trenches or ditches 

Pay Structure: 

Tier 3: Advanced Pipe Laborer (10+ years of experience) 
Pay Rate: $30-$38/hr

Key Responsibilities: 

• A high desire to produce a quality product consistently 
• Applying positive leadership skills to motivate the team. Both verbal and in action
• Understanding a manager’s position of production, deadlines, owner, and client demands 
• High test results of pipe install without error 

Qualifications: 

• Employability traits- consistently arrive on time/daily positive attitude/good work ethic/willingness to listen/aptitude to learn 
• Strong knowledge of testing sewer lines, water lines, manhole vacuum, and mandrel infiltration 
• Advanced knowledge of pipe materials and fittings along with invert construction experience
• Proficient with slopes/grades set up/pipe laser 
• Comfortable with working below/confined spaces 
• Fluent with OSHA rules/regulations/egress 
• Strong communication skills with shovel operator, top man/backfill crew, etc 
• Ability to work independently
• Physically be able to do this work daily under various weather conditions

Tier 2: Novice/Amateur Pipe Laborer (3-9 years of experience) 
Pay Rate: $27-32$/hr 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Clear understanding of task required at hand
• Willingness to mentor and guide less experienced pipe laborers 
• Understanding of tools and equipment and the basic maintenance of those items 

Qualifications: 

• Employability traits- consistently arrive on time/daily positive attitude/good work ethic/willingness to listen/aptitude to learn 
• Follow direction 
• Good communication with shovel operator 
• Physically able to perform the tasks and comfortable working below surface in wet/muddy conditions 
• Set up a pipe laser/clear understanding of pipe installation 
• Experience in installing HDPE, DIP, SDR pipe 
• Safe trench experience, along with experience working with trench box 
• Have testing experience 
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
• Leadership skills 
• A high desire to produce a quality product constantly
• Safety oriented mindset.

Tier 1: Entry-Level Pipe Laborer (0-2 years of experience) 
Pay Rate : $23-28$/hr.

Key Responsibilities 

• Assist in the preparation of pipe installation 
• Follow safety protocols and maintain clean and organized workspaces 
• Work closely with the team and communicate effectively with supervisors 
• Willing to assist with other general labor tasks when needed 

Qualifications: 

• Employability traits- consistently arrive on time/daily positive attitude/good work ethic/willingness to listen/aptitude to learn 
• Follow direction 
• Physically able to perform the tasks and comfortable working below surface in wet/muddy conditions 
• Ability to work in a team environment 
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment. (Dependent on level)
