En 1984, Craig y Lea Culver, junto con los padres de Craig, George y Ruth, abrieron el primer Culver's en la querida ciudad natal de la familia, Sauk City, Wisconsin, y comenzaron a servir ButterBurgers® y Frozen Custard.
