Tacala Companies is currently looking for a qualified and self-motivated HVAC/R Service Technician to join our growing team. Only applicants with refrigeration experience should apply. WHO WE ARE: Tacala, the largest franchisee of the Taco Bell brand, is based in Vestavia Hills, Alabama and has over 370 restaurants in 7 states - and we're still growing! At Tacala, we take great pride in serving both our employees and customers. Our HVAC/R Service Technicians provide year-round preventative maintenance and repair of kitchen and lobby equipment in our restaurants. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with employees, customers and vendors and communicate effectively both verbally and in a written manor. JOB SKILLS EXPERIENCE: 3 - 5 years of similar role EDUCATION: Technical school graduate or degree, or equivalent work experience SKILLS: Must be knowledgeable with the following manufacturers - Trane, Delfield, Pitco SKILLS: Comfort and knowledge of servicing equipment such as - refrigeration systems (walk-in coolers and freezers), restaurant capacity fryers, warmers, and ice machines, and minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC/R ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (not an all-inclusive list): + HVAC/R service and repair + Kitchen cooking equipment and ice machines preventative maintenance and repair + Electrical troubleshooting + Building maintenance and repair + Routine restaurant upkeep and repair + Use of internal tracking software ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: + Must be able to lift 50 pounds + Must have three (3) years of experience with HVAC/R, restaurant kitchen equipment, and commercial ice machines + Must have the ability to travel from location to location - remote field work + Must be able to pass a background check and MVR for use of company vehicle + Must be willing to work approximately 50 hours a week THIS POSITION REQUIRES UNIVERSAL EPA CERTIFICATION THIS POSITION STARTS AT $22-$30 AN HOUR (BASED ON EXPERIENCE), with an average of 10 hours of overtime pay each week WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU: + Great medical, dental and insurance package + Three (3) weeks of paid time off (PTO) + Company provided vehicle + Company provided major tools + Company provided cell phone + Full-time, year-round work (HVAC/R Technicians work approximately 50 hours a week) + Competitive compensation - Technicians average $63 - 85k a year with overtime. + 10 paid holidays off
