Position Description:

The College for Creative Studies (CCS) is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual to join the Office of Partnerships as a Marketing and Events Support Assistant. This full-time position plays a vital role in executing the office’s marketing initiatives and supporting both virtual and in-person events. The role reports directly to the Events Manager.

Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions:

Marketing Support:

• Coordinate and manage timelines for all marketing initiatives targeting both internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with branding and design efforts for all office-related marketing materials, including collaboration with CCS Marketing.
• Assist with management of the Office of Partnerships’ assets to support the CCS social media accounts and website content, ensuring consistent and engaging messaging.
• Support strategies to increase student engagement and external partner participation in career development related events both online and in person.
• Maintain accurate records and databases related to marketing and outreach activities.

Event Support:

• Assist with logistics for virtual and in-person events, serving as a point of contact for students, faculty, and industry partners.
• Schedule and coordinate events such as portfolio reviews and industry-facing programs, including pre- and post-event planning and day-of operations.
• Provide on-site support for events, including room setup, breakdown, and vendor coordination.
• Assist with internal communications and logistics for events such as company presentations and special programming.
• Support signature campus-wide events including the annual Student Exhibition Opening.
• Provide event support for facility rentals and exhibition openings as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in event planning, marketing, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Comfortable using technology platforms (ie-NEON) and project management tools (ie-Asana).
• High level of professionalism, interpersonal skills, and cultural competency.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Figma and InDesign is a plus.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office and college campus environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to maintain a stationary position, use a computer and other office equipment, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and virtually. Frequent interaction with others, including staff, faculty, students and third parties is required. The employee may occasionally be required to move files or other objects weighing up to 25 pounds, including from low and high places. The ability to move around within the office and between buildings on campus, attend off-site meetings and events, and travel between Ford Campus site to Taubman Center site are required. CCS will make reasonable accommodations that will allow individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
