Medical Assistant/Clinical Assistant Job Description Under direct supervision, the Medical Assistant/Clinical Assistant supports physicians and clinicians in providing exceptional patient care within a clinical environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient patient flow and care through exams and procedures, while also performing various clinic support tasks such as clerical duties, answering phones, and maintaining physician schedules. Responsibilities + Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate. + Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. + Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures. + Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed. + Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols. + Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist. + Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN. + Inform physician of patient reschedules and no-shows. + Perform other administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Diploma or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant Program. + Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. + Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with 1-year direct care experience. Work Environment The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, with start times at 8am or 8:30am, occasionally at 7:30am though not required. You will be responsible for rooming 20-25 patients per day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnsville, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
