Position: Network Architect
Location: New York, NY Onsite
Duration: 12+ Months
Responsibilities:
- Study the Networking landscape within an enterprise data center and hybrid networking environment; Partner with clients and other resources in detecting critical architectural, security and infrastructure gaps or deficiencies in the IT environment; Recommend solutions for improvement.
- Continuously evaluate the network design and configuration based on performance metrics, user feedback and emerging mission demands.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and triage alerts from Networking systems
- Commmunicate and coordinate with technical and stakeholder audiences (written and verbal)
- Drive relationships with partners and vendors involving the network solutions.
- Engage directly with customers at a technical and business level and drive successful outcomes.
- Lead the engineering and implementation of firewall policies, rule sets, and segmentation strategies across data centers and cloud platforms.
- Travel May Be Required: 50%
Skills Required:
- Strong experience in managing network hardware and appliances (Zscaler, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, NetScaler)
- Experience with implementing, supporting and maintaining multi-vendor virtualized environments and ability to troubleshoot network system alerts
- Experience in using Wireshark, iperf, tcpdump, and similar tools to diagnose live tactical network traffic and radio behavior.
- Strong knowledge in virtualized and Software Defined Network platforms such as Vmware and NSX.
- Ability to script or automate network provisioning (PowerShell, PowerCLI, and/or Python.)
- Experience with cloud and endpoint security, SIEM logging tools
- Strong experience with Linux and Windows system administration including security and patch management.
- Proficient with network architecture, data center ecosystems, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Excellent comprehension in networking protocols, routing, subnetting, NAT, and firewall configurations.
- Hand-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, NetFlow).
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to work across distributed teams.
- Strong hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting networking in hybrid environments.
- Require deep knowledge in the following areas: Network Routing protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF; and Enterprise Firewall Management tools: Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point, Algosec and Juniper Networks.
- Preferred: CISSP, CISM (or comparable).
- Preferred: Comfortable with Linux commands/file system.
