OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING) – MONTEREY DISTRICT / MONTEREY DISTRICT OFFICE

The Office Technician (Typing) works under the general supervision of the Administrative Chief and works closely with the Monterey District’s Administrative Team. The reporting location for this position is the Monterey District Office, 2211 Garden Road, Monterey, CA 93940.

The Office Technician is responsible for providing accounting and general administrative support and will provide support to the front desk pass sales and customer services phone calls.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Training and development assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.
• The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.

Candidates that believe they meet the Minimum qualifications based on a pattern of education from the classification description (specifications) must provide a copy of your degree/transcripts and/or license along with your application (STD. 678) to be considered for this position. If selected for the position transcripts will be required prior to appointment.
