Job Description

**Job Summary:**
As a Patient Registration Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to patients during the registration process. Your primary focus will be on ensuring a positive customer experience through efficient and accurate completion of administrative and clerical tasks.

**Responsibilities:**
- Collecting and inputting accurate patient information into the Electronic Medical Record system to maintain the integrity of health records.
- Scheduling appointments, verifying demographic and insurance information, and completing pre-registration tasks to facilitate accurate billing.
- Identifying situations where clinical healthcare staff intervention is necessary and coordinating patient flow efficiently.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assisting in Care Coordination services and contributing to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities.
- Handling Prior Authorizations, referrals, and providing specialist resource information.
- Tracking and logging patient data accurately.
- Attending meetings and performing other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Associate’s Degree in a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology.
- 3 years of experience in high-level customer service and relevant healthcare roles.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems.

**Physical Requirements:**
This role involves periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and job-related stress. Evening or weekend work may be required, and occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to ten pounds may be necessary.

Please note: The position of Patient Registration Representative is represented by United Healthcare Workers East, Local 1199, with a pay range of $16.76 - $20.24/hr. based on experience.
