Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, escalation management or related fields.
  • 1 year of experience in Machine Learning (ML) performance, large-scale systems data analysis, ML debugging, Large Language Models (LLMs), or specialized areas within ML.
  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Experience in Abuse Detection and Abuse Policies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in developing detailed operational processes from scratch.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to develop expertise in multiple product areas and simultaneously balance workload across both.

About the job Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Initiate and lead projects to protect Google Search users from abuse, inappropriate content and fraud through investigation, prevention and removal of quality issues.
  • Troubleshoot issues and product vulnerabilities to implement large-scale quality improvements. Analyze and identify new abuse trends. Develop insights and recommendations to enable effective and systematic solutions.
  • Work across several of Search features which involves personalization and find commonalities and abuse patterns.
  • Develop and communicate strategy and goals focusing on user trust and safety issues in Search. Manage responsibilities effectively across multiple product areas. Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Policy, Legal, Engineering teams and other teams within Trust and Safety to execute solutions.
  • Work directly with other members of your team to prevent complex abuse issues. Apply and share best practices on product or system knowledge.
