Job Type: Part-time & Full-time

Shifts Available: 

• EVENING shift (Monday to Friday)
• OVERNIGHT shift (Monday to Friday)

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Requirements:

• Current Illinois RN or LPN license.
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
• Private Duty experience preferred, but not required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Recent TB test (within last year).
• Yearly Physical document.

Required Skills:

• Hoyer Lift operation.
• Nursing note charting.
• Application of hot/cold compress.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Skillful, accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Supply management.
• Physically able to perform the job duties required for this position.
• Medication administration.
• Gastric tube feedings.
• Foley catheter care/insertion.
• Trach care/suctioning.
• Ventilator skills.
• TPN.
• Change dressings.
• Injections.
• Test blood sugars.
• Catheter care.
• Ostomy care.

1:1 School Nurse

Job Summary:

The School Nurse promotes the health and well-being of client/student health assessments, interventions and the development of a healthy school environment. This role ensures compliance with health regulations and collaborates with educators, parents, and health care providers to support student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to student/client.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
• Maintain accurate health records, including immunizations, physical exams, and screenings.
• Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid/CPR as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ilinois (required) OR
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Ilinois (required).
• CPR/AED certification (required).
• Experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing (preferred).

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Competence in electronic health records and basic computer use.
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily works in a school health office setting and /or home setting.
• May need to travel between schools within the district.
• Occasional lifting of students or medical equipment may be required.
