Our Mission
Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee uplifts and strengthens people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering
compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care.
Our evidence-based program includes support groups, healthy lifestyle workshops, mind-body classes, social activities,
educational lectures, and resource and referral information. Offering approximately 60 professionally led support and
networking workshops, and 50 various educational programs and classes each month, Gilda’s Club makes a tangible
difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer. We build community so no one has to face cancer alone.
Program & Volunteer Manager- Part Time
The Program & Volunteer Manager is a cross-functional role working seamlessly with the marketing and program teams
to engage our community and cultivate new volunteer and program opportunities for the organization.
Position reports to: Program Director
Job Responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects of planning, executing, and implementing a robust program calendar which includes the core
components of Gilda’s Club (Healthy Lifestyle, Support Groups, Social Connectivity, and Educational Workshops)
• Communicate with the program team to plan and schedule volunteers for the monthly program calendar.
• Maintain running program calendar document for organization wide distribution.
• Communicate with the Marketing & Events Manager to complete all processes related to creation, production,
and delivery of the monthly print and email program calendar.
• Recruit, engage, and steward volunteers in delivery of cancer support programs, including annual recognition.
• Maintain volunteer information in Gilda’s Club database.
• Represent Gilda’s Club at volunteer recruitment events.
• Coordinate and schedule volunteer training and provide on-going training as needed.
• Work with the Program Director to gather volunteer and program data for quarterly reports
• Serve as first point of contact in Member Relations role one day a week.
• Maintain communication with program facilitators regarding program supply and setup needs
• Coordinate various monthly socials with staff.
• Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience
• Personal qualities of integrity and dedication to Gilda’s Club’s mission.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: specifically, Excel
• Familiarity with CRMs/Donor Databases (MindBody, Arreva Exceed Further).
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Excellent verbal and written skills with ability to present information effectively.
• A multitasker with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
