Job Description

Fountain Valley School, a selective and diverse boarding school, educates 250 students in grades 9–12 on a beautiful 1,100-acre campus in Colorado Springs, CO. Founded in 1930, the School provides a rigorous, global curriculum in academics, arts, athletics and the outdoors. 

The Opportunity:  

The Campus Security Officer will work directly with the Director of Facilities to provide security at the school. They will be the point of contact to provide security patrols and help with logistics at the school. 

  Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests on campus at the Welcome Center. 
• Perform patrols of campus on an hourly basis.
• Provide security support for all events happening on campus.
• Coordinate emergency services if needed and provide assistance to first responders.
• Regular and predictable attendance

Knowledge and Skills :

• Experience with security and risk management procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of campus and surrounding area.
• Ability to work with individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to remain calm and supportive in the midst of crisis.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in a team environment.
• Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, self-directed and punctual.
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  Education / License Qualifications :

• High School Diploma Required. College degree preferred.
• Experience working in a boarding/day school environment preferred.

  Working Conditions :

• Environment: Working in a boarding/day secondary school. 
• Physical demands: Must be able to sit, stand, and walk 8 hrs per day and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs;
• Working Relationships: Work well with community response teams, students, other employees and community members

Salary: 17.00 per hour
