Job Description
Worcester Eisenbrandt (WEI), a historic restoration construction company is looking for an experienced Woodworker/Furniture Maker to work in Maryland. This is a full-time position with benefits, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, and paid time off. Competitive pay.
Key Responsibilities - Design, craft, and assemble custom furniture and wood products
- Repair and restore antique or damaged furniture with historical accuracy
- Select appropriate materials including wood, metal, fabric, and composites
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical plans
- Apply finishes such as stains, paints, and varnishes to completed projects
- Collaborate with clients, designers, and team members to bring ideas to life
- Ensure high standards of quality control and project completion
- Keep tools, materials, and workspace clean and organized
- Source and order materials as needed for ongoing and upcoming projects
Skills & Qualifications - Minimum of 4 years’ experience in professional woodworking or carpentry
- Proficiency in using woodworking tools, joinery techniques, and machinery
- Ability to read and execute detailed technical drawings
- Experience with CAD design software (a plus)
- Knowledge of various materials: solid wood, plywood, metal, and composites
- Familiarity with sustainable building materials and practices
- Strong time management and project execution skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (Trade school or apprenticeship preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
