Job Description

Sqirl is a legacy restaurant in Los Angeles that is continuing to evolve into dinner service. We are looking for bartenders who are enthusiastic and passionate about hospitality, to join our team. You must have empathy, a good sense of humor and deep care for the work. Experience is preferred, however, we are happy to teach anyone who is open to it and has a great attitude. We are looking for candidates who are available to start training the week of January 21, 2026.

Our opening bar program will feature cocktails that are partially and fully batched due to space limitations. We are building out a bar at the end of the building to open in 2026 that will allow for an expanded cocktail program. While initially not a traditional bar, this is an opportunity to be a part of a program that is thoughtful and intentional, and grow alongside it! 

Key Responsibilities:

• Arrive to work in uniform, on-time, with all the tools needed for a successful shift. 
• Provide warm, thoughtful and hospitable service to all guests.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of the food and beverage menus.
• Prepare and serve a variety of drinks on the list including but not limited to, non-alcoholic beverages, classic cocktails, following recipes
• Opening and/or closing the bar up to standards 
• Prepping and batching items as needed
• Adhere to all local and state alcohol regulations
• Running food and beverages with a sense of urgency
• Maintaining the bar area clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times
• Communicating effectively with all front and back of the house staff
• Assist on the floor as necessary
• Perform any necessary side work and related tasks to ensure a prepared and efficient service.
• Uphold and execute Sqirl service and hospitality standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ of experience in a fast-paced restaurant 
• Prior experience with batching and prep work
• Positive attitude with a desire to develop new skills
• Open availability and flexibility to work weekends, holidays if necessary.
• MUST have good punctuality and time management skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure 
• Must have a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift or carry items weighing up to 25lbs.
